By reviewing various works and genres from different authors, students will have a clear understanding of what “good writing” means. With this understanding they will then put their pens to paper and create their own story as they are taken through the important steps of the writing process. From brainstorming to revising to a final published work they can be

Literature Circles

Interactive literature circles and mini- dramas will liven up your child’s interest in English Literature. They will read a variety of fascinating books that will open up students’ minds to new worlds and adventures through the pages of each book they read. Their interest in literature is sure to soar as they understand the value of words through vocabulary development and the implementation of various reading strategies.

ESOL INTENSIVEWORKSHOP

ESOL Intensive Workshop

Our ESOL workshop will improve your confidence in using the English language. There will be ample opportunities to practice speaking, writing, reading, and listening of English. We will emphasize speaking English and practice in a variety of contexts. Participants can expect improvements with their English grammar, vocabulary, and most importantly, conversation. Classes will be fun with a variety of activities all for improving English usage. Please come join us!

CULTURAL AWARENESS CLASS

Cultural Awareness Class

Improving quality of life is something everyone strives for. Gaining an appreciation for culture is a good place to start! Our cultural awareness workshop will start by introducing important terminology related to culture. We will look at characteristics of different cultures. We will experiment with strategies for breaking down barriers. Finally, we will discover how to build trust and strengthen relationships in our work, school, and personal lives. Please come with an open mind and be willing to take some risks. This will be fun!

HEALTH AND FITNESS

Health and Fitness

It’s time to get physical!!! This exciting workshop will get the heart pumping. Students will participate in a variety of sports, including

soccer, hockey, badminton, basketball, aerobic dancing and cardio exercises. Students will learn team building and cooperative learning

skills as well as kinesthetic skills. Knowing how to properly take care of our bodies is an important life skill. There will also be an introduction to the importance of health and proper diet.

PROJECT-BASED LEARNING

Project- Based Learning

This fun interactive workshop will be divided into appropriate activities for elementary, with a focus on Lego Education, and middle, high school, with an engineering and robotic focus. In this workshop students take things apart and put them back together to learn the basic mechanics of How Things Work.

THE SCIENCE OF LEARNING

The Science of Cooking

This is a hands-on, experiential course where students learn how to bake homemade bread and cookies, make pasta dishes, and more western dishes. Practice using English to read recipes and follow instructions.

烹飪學習讓學生有親手做食物的體驗,內容包括:手工烘培餅乾, 麵包, 蛋糕,果醬, 沙拉等等西式餐點。
